 U.S. House 34th Congressional District election, 2026

U.S. House 34th Congressional District. Texas' 34th congressional district is located along the southern border of Texas. It encompasses parts of several counties: Cameron County: This includes cities like Brownsville and Harlingen. Hidalgo County: Portions of this county are also included, featuring cities such as McAllen. Willacy County: A smaller part of this district.

We will have more information on this after we review the names running for US District 18. There are 16 names running. 

US Houe District 18

The Texas Legislature voted to redraw the state’s congressional district boundaries, including those of the 18th District, in August 2025. Governor Greg Abbott (R) signed the new map into law on August 29, 2025. The new map is not scheduled to take effect until after the special election, but it will take effect before the March 2026 primary. Sixteen candidates are running in the special general election for Texas’s 18th US Congressional District on November 4, 2025. 

Candidates from all parties are running in the election, and if no one wins an outright majority, the top two candidates will advance to a runoff. 

This special election might influence legislative votes in the US House. Since Leftist Democrat Turner’s seat is vacant, the House currently has 220 Republicans and 213 Democrats. The narrow margin means the America First GOP should watch out for RINOs voting Democrat.

Jolanda Jones - Democrat – She is a member of the Texas House District 147 and is one of the Leftist Democrats who abandoned their elected position in a cowardly manner, rather than standing up for their beliefs in a debate.

Her career experience includes owning and operating the Law Office of Jolanda Jones and practicing law. Jones served on the Houston City Council from January 2008 to January 2012. Keith Allen is running for the US House District 34. His website says nothing, no party, no platform, not even what district he’s running for. However, he does have video which, when you click it, says he’s running for District 34 in South Texas. He never says if He is a Republican, a Democrat, or an Independent. He says a lot of things without substance. He has signs that say Honor God & Serve Texas. However at https://ballotpedia.org/Keith_Allen_(Texas)He is listed in the Republican Primary.
